Gameloft gave us the whole deal when they introduced Disney Dreamlight Valley into the world. The players love the storyline of this game and the various things it has to offer, such as different tasks, characters, quests, goals, etc.

It is a very well-crafted game with extraordinary sound and visuals that makes the players cherish this game. Disney Dreamlight Valley hooks the players from the very start and takes them on a wild ride through the valley, where they discover the deepest secrets.

If you ever feel like you can’t go about the rest of your day and want to relax at home, then this game provides a real escape. Moreover, it consists of Disney characters, so who can possibly say no to that?

The Royal Tools

This game consists of many tools to help you get by in-game, and some of them are given to you at the very beginning to help you get started, such as the Royal Tools. These tools consist of a Shovel, a Pickaxe, a Watering Can, and a Fishing Rod.

These tools are also used to perform other activities such as mining, fishing, and gardening.

Moreover, they are crucially important if you want to keep progressing in the game.

This is because some areas on the map are blocked by elements like Tree Stumps, massive mushrooms, Ice Crystals, and more. However, you must upgrade your tools to remove these path-blockers since the original ones won’t be enough.

The fishing rod, on the other hand, does not have any upgrades as of yet.

How To Upgrade The Royal Tools In Disney Dreamlight Valley

Only three tools can be upgraded, i.e., the shovel, pickaxe, and watering can. To upgrade tools in Disney Dreamlight valley, you need to increase your Friendship Level with certain characters.

You can do this by completing Friendship Quests for a specific character. Once a quest has been assigned, you will need to travel to their specific realm and bring them back with you to the valley. These quests have to be completed along with the other side quests that are required.

Following is a list of the quests you need to complete for each item:

• Pickaxe: Complete Maui’s quest “A Tale Of Stone And Fire” and Elsa’s quest “The Singing Ice.”
• Watering Can: Complete Merlin’s quest “The Final Trial.”
• Shovel: Complete Anna’s quest “An Icy Invitation.”

Upgrades Of Royal Tools In Disney Dreamlight Valley

Here are the steps to acquire all of the upgrades:

Pickaxe Upgrades

The Pickaxe in Disney Dreamlight Valley consists of two sets of upgrades. Initially, this Royal Tool is only required for the purpose of mining rocks. It can be upgraded to have the ability to break Ice Crystals and Large Corals (sand stones).

An important thing to keep in mind before you unlock the Final Quests for your Pickaxe Upgrade is that you need to reach Level 4 of Friendship with both Elsa and Maui.

Ice Upgrade

This upgrade becomes available once you complete your Friendship Quests assigned by Elsa in the Frozen Realm. The final quest, i.e., “Breaking The Ice,” will grant your pickaxe the ability to destroy huge Ice Crystals.

To complete this quest, you must listen to Elsa’s instructions and do everything she asks, be it cooking or foraging for different items. The breakdown of these crystals provides you with access to regions in the Forest of Valor and Frosted Heights.

Coral Upgrade

After completing the Friendship Quest assigned by Maui in the Moana Realm, the Coral upgrade becomes available. In this case, the final quest gives us access to break the Large Coral blocks, which opens a path in Dazzle Beach.

Shovel Upgrades

The Shovel tool is upgraded so that one can clear out the Tree Stumps in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Breaking tree stumps can reward you with valuable Hardwood and Softwood, which are quite useful in different quests and activities in the game.

To upgrade this Royal Tool, a quest called “An Icy Invitation” will be available once you reach Level 2 of Friendship with Anna. During this quest, Anna will ask you to clear a path across the bridge that is located in the Forest of Valor.

To remove tree stumps from the pathway, you will need the following materials to upgrade the shovel:

• 4 Hardwood: Can be found around trees in Forest of Valor
• 10 Softwood: Same as above
• 4 Iron Ingots: Need to be crafted from Iron Ore
• 3 Tinkering Parts: Needs to be crafted using Iron Ingots

Once these materials are gathered, the shovel upgrade can be crafted at any crafting station. After that, find it in your Inventory and tap the “use” option for it to be permanently upgraded.

Watering Can Upgrades

The Watering Can Tool can be upgraded to remove the Mystical Mushrooms in the pathway. This upgrade becomes available by completing Merlin’s quest called “The Final Trial.”

At Friendship Level 8 with Merlin, the first upgrade of the watering can become available. In “The Dark Experiment” quest, the second upgrade of the tool is available, and in “The Final Trial,” the last and permanent upgrade for the watering can is granted.

To make the Watering Can permanent in the last quest, Merlin will ask you to get the following items for him so he can perform the spell:

• 20 Mushrooms
• 5 Emeralds
• 3 Purified Night Shards

Once these materials are gathered, give them to Merlin, who will ask you to test out the enchantment before making the can permanent. After completing this quest, you can easily remove mushrooms from anywhere.

Watering the Purple Mushrooms will provide you with regular mushrooms that can be eaten, sold, gifted, or cooked in various dishes. The clearance of these mushrooms grants us access to the Glade Of Trust, and you will also receive a Wizard Hat upon completing this quest for Merlin.
