The guide to catching an eel at Disney Dreamlight Valley.

Eel Fishing in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Eel is a rare fish species in Disney Dreamlight Valley, and players can learn how to catch one.

Disney Dreamlight Valley offers players an immersive experience of thrill and exploration in every activity of the game, including fishing. Players can trap fish from ponds located in different biomes, and one of the rare fish in the game is the Eel. Catching an Eel is a quest item for players as part of Maui’s “Burying the Eel” quest. Here’s a guide on how to catch an Eel in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

How to Catch an Eel in Disney Dreamlight Valley

To catch an Eel, players need to set a fishing trap. Here are the ingredients required to craft the trap:

  • Worms: Look for sparkling spots near the ponds in the Peaceful Meadow.
  • Softwood: Find scattered softwood around the valley, especially in the Plaza and Peaceful Meadow. Collect eight pieces.

Once the ingredients are gathered, players can craft the fishing trap at a crafting station and then take it out for fishing.

After crafting the fishing trap, place it near the Dock in Dazzle Beach and equip the fishing rod. Aim at the red ripples in the pond, as these are most likely to have an Eel. It’s recommended to bring a companion with a fishing role to increase the chances of catching an extra fish.

What to Do After Catching an Eel in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Unlike other fish species, Eel cannot be sold or gifted to villagers. It is required for Maui’s friendship quest, “Burying the Eel.” After catching an Eel, players need to return to Maui and bury it in the ground at Dazzle Beach. Then, they must water it with a watering can.

Disney Dreamlight Valley is available on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
