The DreamSnaps Update and the First Photography Community Challenge
The highly anticipated DreamSnaps Update for Disney Dreamlight Valley is just around the corner, and the game is now dropping hints about its first photography community challenge.
The upcoming DreamSnaps Update will introduce photography contests to Disney Dreamlight Valley. The first challenge has already been teased, creating excitement among players.
Disney Dreamlight Valley will soon transition to a free-to-play model, with most of its revenue coming from microtransactions. The in-game currency, called Moonstones, can be used to purchase a wide range of items and packs. However, some fans have expressed concerns about the introduction of microtransactions before the game’s full launch.
The introduction of Moonstones as an in-game purchase caused a backlash within the community. Players were shocked by the high prices of Moonstones in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Additionally, the addition of the Premium Shop revealed the exorbitant amount of Moonstones required to purchase cosmetic items. For example, a house skin costs 3,750 Moonstones, equivalent to around $15. While these skins are inspired by popular Disney and Pixar movies, they are purely cosmetic. Some fans have even drawn comparisons between Gameloft and EA, noting that while The Sims packs may be expensive, they offer more content.
In response to the criticism, Disney Dreamlight Valley recently announced that players will have the opportunity to earn free Moonstones on a weekly basis by participating in a photography competition open to the entire community. This new feature will be added to the game with the release of the DreamSnaps Update. To build excitement, the official Disney Dreamlight Valley Twitter account has provided a hint about the theme for the first week’s challenge, using a crown emoji and a castle emoji.
Fans of Disney Dreamlight Valley have already begun speculating about the challenge theme. Many believe it may involve taking a picture in front of the Castle near the Plaza. Those who are confident in this guess can start preparing the perfect scenario for the picture once DreamSnaps is live.
The release date for the DreamSnaps Update has not been revealed yet, but it is expected to arrive soon. In the meantime, players have time to prepare for the addition of Wreck-It Ralph’s Vanellope to the roster of available characters in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
Disney Dreamlight Valley is currently available in early access on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
